The challenge

The surface challenge

Giving a textile a function — absorbing better, repelling water or holding a coating — usually goes through wet chemistry, heavy on water and energy. And the effect is not always uniform across the full width.

Plasma treats the fibre at the surface, dry, without changing the core of the material or its hand feel. Depending on the process, you can target hydrophilicity or hydrophobicity.
