    We treat your parts in our facilities, characterise the surfaces (contact angle, surface energy, how long the effect lasts) and document the process.

What plasma does not do: it does not replace heavy degreasing. On an oily part or one covered in mill scale, you have to clean first — we will tell you so at the diagnosis stage.

Is my material compatible with plasma?
The vast majority of polymers, metals, glasses and composites can be treated with DBD plasma. The surest way to find out is to send us a description of your part and your goal. We come back to you with a first assessment and, if needed, we treat a sample in our facilities.
How do I know whether plasma will solve my adhesion or fogging problem?
Plasma is particularly effective for problems tied to low surface energy, residual contamination or a need for hydrophilic functionalisation. Our diagnosis stage qualifies your case before any investment.
How long does it take to integrate a reactor into my line?
The lead time depends on the complexity of the integration. For a standard reactor, allow roughly 1 to 3 months between order and commissioning. For a custom reactor, the schedule is framed at the design stage and firmed up in the specification.
Can you treat my parts before I buy equipment?
Yes. Our facilities in Quebec City let us treat your parts as a service, long enough to validate the process and build your qualification file. It is often the best way to start a project without committing to a capital investment.
How long does the plasma treatment effect last?
The surface activation effect ages over time, at a rate that depends on the material, the storage environment and the nature of the process. For a lasting effect, we combine activation with the deposition of a functional layer. The precise duration is characterised on your parts during the validation stage.
What documents do you provide for my customer audits?
Every project is delivered with a documented process file: plasma parameters, characterisation methods, validation results and operating procedures. For regulated markets (medical, food), we adapt the level of documentation to your sector's requirements.
What does a plasma project at Kalego cost?
Costs vary with complexity (standard or custom reactor, in-line integration, level of documentation required). We provide a costed estimate after the diagnosis stage, which remains without commitment.
